Point Loma patients and the Mission Hills clinic

The City of San Diego’s Peninsula planning area is made up of relatively distinct residential neighborhoods that the city lists as including Point Loma Highlands, Loma Portal, Roseville, Sunset Cliffs, La Playa, and Liberty Station, the former Naval Training Center. Our Mission Hills location is the SDBody clinic for Point Loma patients, and SDBody’s Mission Hills testosterone page names Point Loma among the neighborhoods the clinic is convenient from.

SDBody does not have an office in Point Loma. Patients from Point Loma are seen in Mission Hills, or in La Jolla if they would like to use that clinic.

SDBody is a physician-led practice for hormones and wellness, founded in 2018 and operating two San Diego clinics. A first visit at Mission Hills starts with a clinician looking at goals, symptoms, history and other clinical details, and deciding from there what should come next: an examination, testing or a treatment evaluation.

Services at SDBody Mission Hills for Point Loma

Point Loma patients can use every service below at Mission Hills, apart from the two recovery options noted as La Jolla services. Medical treatments start with a clinician explaining candidacy, evidence, risks, and monitoring.

Testosterone replacement therapy

The Mission Hills testosterone replacement therapy page, reviewed by Dr. Shawn Vedamani, MD, notes that testosterone therapy can suppress sperm production, which matters for anyone planning a family. It also describes how low testosterone is confirmed: blood testing, typically more than one draw, interpreted with symptoms, medical history, and current medications. Morning is the usual time to measure testosterone, per the same page, and Mission Hills opens at 8am on weekdays.

There is also a testosterone replacement therapy page for Point Loma patients.

Hormone replacement therapy

Beyond testosterone, SDBody’s hormone replacement therapy includes DHEA, thyroid, estrogen, and progesterone care. Delivery can involve creams, injections, pills, or patches, chosen case by case for the hormone and dose. The practice covers men and women on separate pages with a single physician evaluation approach for both.

Labs

Blood draws for Point Loma patients happen at Mission Hills. The Hormone, Core and Advanced panels are explained by the clinic’s medical staff, and a clinician confirms or adjusts the selection. Read more on diagnostic labs in Mission Hills or try the lab assessment.

Medical weight loss

Clinicians begin medical weight loss with a review of weight and health history (earlier attempts included), relevant medications or conditions, and the patient’s goals, and they explain follow-up and progress tracking once a medical plan is found to fit.

Peptide therapy and IV therapy

Peptide therapy follows a physician review of candidacy, evidence, safety, and monitoring. IV and NAD+ therapy is given under provider oversight in the Mission Hills IV suite.

Recovery

The Mission Hills clinic has red light therapy, a cryotherapy chamber, an infrared sauna and cold plunge. SDBody offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy and PEMF therapy at its La Jolla clinic.

Your first visit, step by step

SDBody’s how it works page describes a four-part visit. Intake gives the patient time to explain goals and what feels different. The lab draw follows once staff have explained the panel choices. A consultation then puts the results in context with a clinician, who explains the options. The final part, if care is appropriate, is an explanation of the proposed plan, other options, possible risks, and how it would be monitored.

Questions Point Loma Patients Ask Before Booking

Does SDBody have an office in Point Loma?
No. SDBody runs two clinics, Mission Hills and La Jolla, and Point Loma patients are seen at Mission Hills.
Is a referral required?
No. Book with the Mission Hills clinic directly, and bring a list of medications and supplements plus recent bloodwork if you have it.
How long does hormone treatment last?
There is no fixed length. It depends on why treatment started, the patient's response, risks, preferences, and medical guidance, and the clinician goes over the monitoring plan and what could lead to changing or stopping treatment.
Does insurance cover it?
SDBody is a direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance. This allows us to provide personalized care without the limitations or requirements of insurance plans. We accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA, and FSA payments for eligible services. Pricing is discussed upfront, so you’ll know the cost of your care before treatment.
What if my labs come back normal?
It happens, and it is still useful. The clinician widens the review and discusses other explanations for how the patient feels.
"I honestly feel like a brand new person."
