Our Mission Hills clinic opens at 8 a.m. five days a week at 1747 Hancock St Ste C, minutes from Downtown San Diego and the airport. For anyone who works downtown, that is the difference between getting the right draw at the right hour and settling for whatever slot was left.
SDBody, formerly Hormones and Wellness, draws blood on-site here and has a clinician sit down with you afterward to go through it.
Three Panels, Chosen With You
We run three panels. Hormone, Core, and Advanced. Depending on your goals and what you are experiencing, testing may cover hormone, thyroid, metabolic, and other markers.
You do not have to work out which one you need from a website at midnight. Our medical staff go through the options with you in the clinic, explain what each one covers, and help you match one to the reason you came in.
A Number Is Not an Answer
Bloodwork on its own tells you very little. A clinician has to put it next to your symptoms, your history, and the medications you are already taking before it means anything.
Reference ranges are built from populations, not from you. A result sitting comfortably inside a range can still be the wrong number for a specific person, and a result just outside one is frequently nothing to act on. Reading the difference is clinical work, and it is the part of this service that actually carries the value.
If your results point toward something we do not treat, you will hear that directly.
Booking a Morning Draw
- Intake. What you want to fix, what feels wrong, and what you have already been told.
- Lab draw. Panel chosen with our medical staff, drawn here at Mission Hills.
- Consultation. A clinician goes through your results with you in context.
- Next steps. If care makes sense, you get the plan, the alternatives, the risks, and the monitoring schedule before you agree to anything.
More on this on our how-it-works and lab assessment pages.
Preparing Properly
A handful of practical things protect the quality of your result. Come in at the time our team gives you rather than the time that suits you best, because for several markers the hour genuinely matters. Be hydrated. Flag an active illness, a rough night, or a heavy training session the day before, since all three can move numbers. Bring every medication and supplement you take, including the occasional ones, and bring any recent results from another provider so your clinician is comparing like with like instead of starting cold.
Reasons Patients Book Labs Here
- Fatigue that has outlasted every obvious explanation. See low energy and fatigue.
- Sleep that leaves you flat, and recovery that keeps sliding. See poor sleep and recovery.
- Training that has stopped producing anything. See strength and performance.
- Libido, mood, or focus that has changed and stayed changed
- Weight that resists genuine, sustained effort
- A previous “everything looks normal” that did not match how you felt. See normal labs and still feel off.
After the Results
Testing only earns its cost if something follows. Once your clinician has been through the panel with you, one of three things happens. The results explain your symptoms, and there is a clear plan, laid out with its alternatives and its monitoring. The results are unremarkable, and the conversation widens into what else could be driving how you feel. Or the results point outside our scope, and you get told so plainly and pointed toward the right care. In all three cases you leave knowing what your numbers said.
What will not happen is a borderline result being used to sell you something. Bloodwork is one input into a clinical picture, and we will not dress it up as a diagnosis on its own.
Why Patients Choose SDBody Mission Hills
- Morning appointments, five days a week. Open at 8am, which suits both hormone draw timing and a downtown work schedule.
- Physician-led.
