A Mission Hills clinic for Downtown San Diego

The City of San Diego describes Downtown as eight neighborhoods: Gaslamp, East Village, Columbia, Marina, Cortez, Little Italy, Horton Plaza, and Core. The city also places its Uptown planning area, which includes Mission Hills, just north of Downtown. Our Mission Hills location is the SDBody clinic for patients from anywhere in Downtown San Diego.

SDBody does not have an office in Downtown San Diego. Downtown patients are seen at 1747 Hancock St Ste C in Mission Hills or at the La Jolla clinic if they choose.

The schedule is part of the fit. SDBody’s reviewed testosterone page for Mission Hills notes that the 8am opening fits a downtown work schedule, and the clinic runs until 4pm Monday through Thursday and 3pm on Fridays.

SDBody was founded in 2018 as a physician-led hormone and wellness practice. At Mission Hills, a clinician reviewing goals, symptoms, history, and other clinical information comes first before deciding whether an exam, testing, or a treatment evaluation is appropriate.

Services Downtown San Diego patients can book at Mission Hills

Services listed here are available at Mission Hills except where La Jolla is named. Each medical service has its own candidacy, evidence, risk, and monitoring questions, and a clinician works through them before starting treatment.

Morning labs and testosterone testing

Testosterone is generally measured in the morning, according to the Mission Hills testosterone replacement therapy page that Dr. Shawn Vedamani, MD, medically reviewed. The same page describes diagnosis as blood testing, typically more than one draw, interpreted with symptoms, medical history, and current medications. Labs are drawn on site, and the 8am opening allows for a morning draw.

There is also a testosterone replacement therapy page for Downtown patients.

Lab panels

SDBody’s three panels are Hormone, Core and Advanced. Staff at the clinic explain them, a clinician confirms or adjusts the pick with the patient, and results are read with symptoms, history, and medications in view. Details are on diagnostic labs in Mission Hills and the lab assessment.

Hormone replacement therapy

Testosterone, DHEA, thyroid, estrogen and progesterone care all fall under SDBody’s hormone replacement therapy. A clinician may talk through creams, injections, pills or patches, since the route is chosen case by case for the hormone and dose. There are separate overviews for men and women, and SDBody says both follow the same physician evaluation.

Medical weight loss

The first step in medical weight loss is a clinician’s review of weight and health history, past attempts, medications or conditions with an effect on weight, and what the patient wants to achieve. If a medical plan is a fit, the clinician explains the follow-up and the way progress is tracked.

Peptide therapy and IV and NAD+ therapy

A physician evaluates candidacy, evidence, safety, and monitoring before peptide therapy is considered. IV and NAD+ therapy is delivered with provider oversight in the IV suite at Mission Hills.

Recovery options

For recovery, Mission Hills has a cryotherapy chamber and red light therapy, plus an infrared sauna and cold plunge. SDBody’s La Jolla clinic is where hyperbaric oxygen therapy and PEMF therapy are offered.

What happens at the first visit

The how it works page sets out the path. An intake conversation covers goals and what feels off. The patient then picks a lab panel with staff explaining the options. In the consultation, a clinician goes through results in context and explains the options. When treatment makes sense, the final step lays out the plan with its alternatives, risks, and monitoring.
