Physician-led care in Mission Hills and La Jolla

Labs read in clinical context

Diagnostic labs, reviewed with a clinician

A lab result is one part of an evaluation. At Hormones and Wellness by SD Body, you choose the lab panel you'd like (our medical staff can guide you through the options), and your clinician reviews the results alongside your symptoms, history, and other context, because normal isn't always the whole answer.

Not sure where to start?

Take the symptom checker

Six questions, about two minutes. Tell us how you feel and we’ll point you to the lab panel that fits — and to a clinician who reads it in context.

Many people arrive having been told their labs are “normal” while they still feel off. Reference ranges help clinicians interpret results, but a number by itself does not explain a symptom or select a treatment. The consultation is where a clinician reads your results in context.

What testing may include

Testing is selected for the question being evaluated and the clinician’s judgment. Depending on your case, that may include hormone, thyroid, metabolic, or other markers. A clinician decides what is appropriate — not a fixed panel sold to everyone.

How labs fit into care

  1. Intake — your goals and symptoms are read first.
  2. Lab draw — if testing is appropriate, a clinician selects the panel.
  3. Consultation — a clinician reviews results with your symptoms, history, and medications.
  4. Next steps — the clinician explains what the results may or may not mean.

Why context matters

A result at the edge of a reference range can mean different things for different people. Reading it well takes a clinician who knows your history and goals. That is the difference between data and care.

Lab questions patients ask

Why do I feel off when my labs are normal?
A lab result is one part of an evaluation. A clinician may consider symptoms, history, medications, exam findings, and other clinical factors before recommending any next step.
Do you offer a fixed lab panel?
We start from three panels — Hormone, Core, and Advanced — and a clinician confirms or adjusts the one that fits your clinical question before anything is drawn. Not sure which applies to you? Take the lab panel assessment.
Will I have to stay on treatment forever?
Duration depends on the reason for treatment, your response, risks, preferences, and medical guidance. A clinician explains the monitoring plan and how treatment may be changed or stopped.
Do you have a location near me?
We see patients in person at two San Diego clinics: Mission Hills and La Jolla. You choose the location that is most convenient.
Does insurance cover it?
Coverage and self-pay costs depend on the service and your plan. We will walk through what is included before you commit.
"I honestly feel like a brand new person."
