Pacific Beach borders La Jolla

According to the City of San Diego’s Pacific Beach community plan, the coastal plain that covers the majority of Pacific Beach rises to steep hillsides in the north, bordering La Jolla. That shared border is why our La Jolla location is the SDBody clinic for Pacific Beach patients. SDBody’s La Jolla testosterone page also mentions Pacific Beach, along with Bird Rock, UTC and Del Mar, when describing where the clinic sits.

SDBody does not have an office in Pacific Beach. Care for Pacific Beach patients happens at the La Jolla clinic on Fay Avenue, and the Mission Hills clinic is an option too.

SDBody is a physician-led hormone and wellness practice founded in 2018. In La Jolla, a clinician first looks at a patient’s goals, symptoms and history and any other relevant clinical details, and from there decides whether to recommend an examination, testing or a treatment evaluation.

Services at SDBody La Jolla for Pacific Beach patients

La Jolla offers every service in this section. For medical treatments, a clinician explains candidacy, evidence, risks and monitoring before care begins.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy and PEMF therapy

SDBody provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy at La Jolla, with a clinician reviewing candidacy, protocol and monitoring before any session. The clinic’s PEMF suite offers PEMF therapy as well.

Hormone replacement therapy

Care under SDBody’s hormone replacement therapy program can involve testosterone, DHEA, thyroid, estrogen or progesterone. Creams, injections, pills and patches are possible delivery routes, decided case by case for the hormone and dose. The site has separate pages for men and women, both built on the same physician evaluation.

Testosterone replacement therapy

The La Jolla testosterone replacement therapy page, medically reviewed by Dr. Shawn Vedamani, MD, explains that low testosterone is confirmed through blood testing, usually more than one draw, interpreted with symptoms, medical history and current medications. It also notes that response timing varies by person and by which symptom is being tracked, and that the risks reviewed before starting include red blood cell count, cardiovascular considerations and fertility.

There is also a testosterone replacement therapy page for Pacific Beach patients.

Lab testing

Pacific Beach patients have blood drawn at the La Jolla clinic’s blood draw station. SDBody’s Hormone, Core and Advanced panels are explained by medical staff, and a clinician confirms or adjusts the choice. See diagnostic labs in La Jolla.

Weight loss, peptides and IV therapy

The first appointment for medical weight loss reviews weight and health history, past attempts, medications or conditions affecting weight, and goals, with follow-up and progress tracking explained if a medical plan fits. Peptide therapy is assessed by a physician for candidacy, evidence, safety and monitoring. IV and NAD+ therapy is given in the IV Lounge under provider oversight.

Red light, sauna and cold plunge

Red light therapy and the infrared sauna and cold plunge are available at both SDBody clinics, and La Jolla’s wellness services also run on Saturdays and Sundays. Cryotherapy is offered at Mission Hills.

First visit at La Jolla

SDBody’s how it works page lists four steps. Patients start with an intake about their goals and what feels off. Next is a lab draw, after staff explain the panels. The consultation follows, where a clinician reviews results in context and outlines options. If care is appropriate, the final step is a discussion of the plan, alternatives, risks and monitoring.

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy available?

Does insurance cover care?
SDBody is a direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance. This allows us to provide personalized care without the limitations or requirements of insurance plans. We accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA, and FSA payments for eligible services. Pricing is discussed upfront, so you’ll know the cost of your care before treatment.
