Testosterone Replacement Therapy in Mission Hills, San Diego

Most men do not book an appointment because they think their testosterone is low. They book because they are tired in a way that sleep does not fix, their training has stopped paying off, their drive is down, and they have quietly noticed they are not themselves.

SDBody, formerly Hormones and Wellness, treats that properly at our Mission Hills clinic, 1747 Hancock St Ste C, minutes from Downtown San Diego and the airport. We open at 8am, which is useful for two reasons. It fits a downtown work schedule, and morning is when testosterone is best measured.

Testing First, Always

Low testosterone is a clinical diagnosis. It is confirmed with blood testing, typically more than one draw, and it is interpreted alongside your symptoms, your medical history, and the medications you already take. Published endocrine practice guidance is clear that treatment should follow consistent low readings plus matching symptoms rather than a single number seen in isolation.

That is exactly how it works here. We draw a panel on site, a clinician reviews the results in context, and you get a straight explanation of what they mean before anyone talks about a prescription. If your labs point somewhere else, toward thyroid, sleep, metabolic health, or stress load, you will hear that. A good number of men who come in expecting testosterone leave with a different and more useful plan.

What Men Bring To Us

  • Energy that collapses mid-afternoon regardless of how they slept
  • Lower sex drive, or changes in erections and performance
  • Strength and muscle that no longer respond to training
  • Body fat settling around the midsection despite steady effort
  • Mood that has gone flat, short, fused, or irritable
  • Brain fog, slower recall, trouble holding focus through a workday
  • Poor sleep quality and recovery that keeps getting slower

Any of these can indicate low testosterone. Any of them can also indicate something else entirely, which is the whole argument for testing before treating. Read more on low energy and fatigue and strength and performance.

Your First Visit to Mission Hills

  1. Intake. You tell us your goals and what feels off, with time to actually talk.
  2. Lab draw. You choose a panel, and our medical staff walk you through the options in the clinic. We offer three: Hormone, Core, and Advanced.
  3. Consultation. A clinician reviews your results against your symptoms, history, and medications.
  4. Next steps. If therapy is appropriate, the clinician explains the plan, the alternatives, the risks, and the monitoring schedule before anything starts.

No rushed seven-minute visit and no plan that begins before your results are back. The full pathway is on our how-it-works page.

Monitoring Is Part Of The Treatment

Testosterone therapy is a prescription therapy with real effects and real risks, and FDA labeling for testosterone products reflects that. Men on treatment need periodic rechecks of hormone levels, red blood cell counts, and other markers, along with symptom review, so the plan can be adjusted or stopped if it stops serving you. Follow-up bloodwork is built into care here rather than sold to you as an upgrade six months in.

Your clinician will also talk through the considerations that apply specifically to you, including fertility, since testosterone therapy can suppress sperm production, and that matters a great deal to some patients and not at all to others.

Questions To Ask Any TRT Clinic In San Diego

Use these here or anywhere else. The answers separate a medical practice from a subscription.

  • How many draws before you would confirm a diagnosis?
  • Which clinician reviews my results, and will I speak to them directly?
  • What is the monitoring schedule after I start, and is follow-up bloodwork included?
  • What would make you adjust or stop treatment?
  • What are the fertility implications for me specifically?
  • What happens if my labs come back normal?

A clinic that answers all six without hedging is one worth trusting with a prescription.

Why Men Choose SDBody Mission Hills

Most testosterone clinics in San Diego are either a national franchise running a location page with no local clinicians named on it or a small storefront with no diagnostic depth. We are a physician-led medical practice.

  • Real physicians, named. SDBody was co-founded by Dr. Shawn Vedamani, MD, Medical Director, and a board-certified anesthesiologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience, and Dr. Alex Roher, MD, also a board-certified anesthesiologist. Brooke Stearns, PA-C, our Lead Medical Provider, works in hormone optimization, weight management, and longevity medicine. See our providers page.
  • Labs in the building. Drawn here, reviewed by the clinician treating you. See diagnostic labs.
  • More than a prescription. Cryotherapy, infrared sauna, cold plunge and red light therapy are all on-site, along with medical weight loss, which frequently belongs in the same plan.
  • Early appointments. Open from 8am, minutes from downtown.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly with our Mission Hills clinic. Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, plus any recent bloodwork you already have.
Why does the appointment time matter?
Testosterone follows a daily rhythm and is generally measured in the morning. Opening at 8am means we can draw your labs when the result is most meaningful.
How do I know whether my testosterone is genuinely low?
Through blood testing interpreted by a clinician alongside your symptoms. A single reading is rarely enough, which is why repeat testing is standard practice.
Will testosterone therapy affect my fertility?
It can suppress sperm production, which is an important conversation to have before starting if you are planning a family. Raise it at your consultation, and your clinician will go through the options.
What if my labs come back normal?
That happens, and it is genuinely useful information. We look at the wider picture and discuss other explanations. See normal labs and still feel off.
"I honestly feel like a brand new person."
