IV and NAD+ Therapy in La Jolla, San Diego

There is a difference between an IV run in a medical clinic and an IV run in a pop-up. Same bag on the hook, very different standard of care around it. At SDBody La Jolla, IV and NAD+ therapy happens inside a physician led practice at 7710 Fay Ave, with medical staff who screen you first and stay with you through the session.

SDBody, formerly Hormones and Wellness, sits in the heart of La Jolla village, minutes from the coast. People book IV therapy here before a long flight, after a heavy training block, during a stretch of poor sleep, or as part of a broader plan built around their lab results.

What IV Therapy Actually Does

An intravenous drip delivers fluid and selected nutrients straight into the bloodstream, bypassing digestion. That is the mechanism, and it is the honest limit of what can be claimed. Hydration is well established. Correcting a genuine nutrient deficiency is well established. Beyond that, most of the marketing you see around IV drips outpaces the evidence.

Our position is simple. IV therapy is a comfort and support service. It is not a treatment for a medical condition, and it does not replace diagnosis. If you feel wiped out for months at a time, the answer is bloodwork, not a standing drip appointment. That is why our IV service sits next to our diagnostic labs rather than in place of them.

Where NAD+ Fits, And What Is Still Unknown

NAD+ is a coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism, and interest in NAD+ infusions has grown fast in longevity and performance circles. Here is the part most clinics leave out of their copy. NAD+ infusions are not FDA-approved to treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Research in humans is early, and much of what circulates online is extrapolated from laboratory and animal work.

We still offer it because patients ask for it, and it can be given safely under supervision, and we tell you exactly that before you book. NAD+ infusions are typically run slowly, since a faster drip is commonly associated with chest tightness, nausea, flushing, and cramping. Our staff adjust the rate to your tolerance and stay with you.

If a clinic promises you that NAD+ will reverse aging, repair your DNA, or fix a diagnosed condition, that is a marketing claim rather than a clinical one.

Who Books IV and NAD+ Therapy At Our La Jolla Clinic?

  • Travelers heading out of, or landing back into, San Diego and feeling the effects
  • Athletes and gym regulars in a heavy training block
  • Patients already working with us on hormone care or medical weight loss who want added support between visits
  • People recovering from a demanding week, poor sleep or a stomach bug
  • Anyone curious about NAD+ who wants it done in a clinic rather than a storefront

Safety, Screening, and Who Should Not Book

IV therapy is a medical procedure. It carries real risks, including vein irritation, infiltration, allergic reaction, and infection at the access site. Screening matters more than the ingredient list.

Talk to us before booking if you have kidney disease, heart failure, a history of fluid overload, a bleeding disorder, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medications that interact with high-dose vitamins. Our clinical team reviews your history at intake and will tell you plainly if an infusion is not a good idea for you.

Why SDBody La Jolla Rather Than A Drip Bar

  • Physicians in the practice. SDBody was co-founded by Dr. Shawn Vedamani, MD, Medical Director and a board-certified anesthesiologist, and Dr. Alex Roher, MD, also board-certified in anesthesiology. Anesthesiology is a specialty built around IV access, dosing, and monitoring. Brooke Stearns, PA-C, leads clinical care. See the team on our providers page.
  • Labs in the same building. If your fatigue has a cause, we can look for it. Our panels are Hormone, Core and Advanced.
  • A full recovery floor. Pair a session with infrared sauna and cold plunge, red light therapy, or PEMF therapy.
  • No membership pressure. You will hear what we recommend and why, then you decide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an IV session take in La Jolla?
A standard hydration or vitamin drip is usually a short appointment. NAD+ infusions run considerably longer because the rate has to stay slow for comfort. Our staff will give you the expected time for your specific drip when you book.
Does NAD+ therapy hurt?
Most people describe pressure in the chest, warmth or mild nausea if the drip runs too quickly. Slowing the rate generally settles it. Tell your nurse the moment you feel it, because that is what the adjustment is for.
Do I need labs before an IV?
Not for basic hydration. We do recommend labs if you are chasing ongoing fatigue, because a drip will not answer that question. Our lab assessment is the better starting point.
Can I combine IV therapy with hormone treatment?
Yes, and many of our patients do. Your clinician will confirm it fits with your current plan and medications first.
Is IV therapy covered by insurance?
SDBody is a direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance. This allows us to provide personalized care without the limitations or requirements of insurance plans. We accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA, and FSA payments for eligible services. Pricing is discussed upfront, so you’ll know the cost of your care before treatment.
